Connie Starr

Connie got started mushing when her husband bought her a dogsled for Christmans and he said to herself "I gotta figure out how to do this!"

Two of her mushing highlights include winning the Best Kept Team from the Northwest Sled Dog Association for the 2013-2014 season as well as finishing the 2018 ECX 100-Mile Race with happy dogs.  Her team is all rescues or re-homes.  She is so proud of them!

Connie's goal for the future is to stay upright on the runners for as long as she can and redeem herself for holding the record for the slowest finish ever!

Connie's most embarrassing dog situation: When she was a dogsled tour guide and her team broke the snubline and she ended up on top of her passengers as the dogs sped down the trail.  Fortunately they are (mostly) well-trained in voice commands and stopped long enough to get a hook in so she could get on the runners where she belonged.
