The ECX Trail Crew team is responsible for marking the trail and providing safety support along the entire course. We always have a need for experienced snowmobile operators interested in helping. Most positions require that you bring a snowmobile and all personal equipment. The race provides fuel during the race. The trail crew for the 31 mile race is generally back in town for the night, while the crew for the 100/200-mile race will spend time resting at the Ollokot checkpoint.

Each race has a point and sweep team that consists of at least 2 snowmobiles. The Point team stays ahead of the lead musher and the sweep team stays behind the last musher. Often this requires some long sits on the trail, depending on conditions. The entire course is groomed before the race, but heavy snowfall sometimes makes some additional trail packing necessary by the trail crew.
